Practice Area

Marcia is a Senior Associate in the commercial team at Saracens, specialisign in non-contentious commercial and corporate law. Her experience is wide ranging and includes overseeing the roll-out of regulated and non-regulated collective investment schemes; AIM listed fund management; IPOs; financial licensing applications; fractional ownerships; sale and purchase of assets in and outside of the UK; mergers and acquisitions; SME structuring; and more recently supporting digital start-ups and exchanges ensuring national and international compliance with consumer protection, privacy rights, communications and regulatory guidance and requirements and licensing rights for non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Achievements and Accolades

Marcia has over her career volunteered her time to charities for the homeless and children providing free legal advice on rights. She is fluent in Spanish and is learning French. She has an advanced diploma in business administration; a diploma in corporate governance and has recently completed a blockchain regulator certification with the University of Nicosia.

History

Marcia qualified in 2003 in New South Wales, Australia and in England & Wales in 2008. She initially trained and worked in ‘top-tier’ firms in the property, commercial and corporate divisions taking on a secondment for a private health insurance company as in-house counsel for 6 months. In the UK, she has worked for financially regulated and non-regulated commercial businesses, private and publicly listing companies acting as in-house counsel. Over the last few years, Marcia’s focus has been in the digital asset technology space.
