Non-payment of wages/holiday/notice

In an employment contract there are various significant terms that need to be included, such as salary, holiday entitlement etc.  Your employer may include certain clauses in your contract of employment which will allow them to make deductions to your wages, such as, for example, deducting the cost of lost company property.  It is best to clarify the terms that are important to you at the outset, so that you and your employer are on the ‘same wavelength’.

Non-payment of wagesholidaynoticeYou should seek legal advice in order to confirm whether or not your employment is allowed to make deductions to your wages.  If your employer fails to pay your wages or otherwise fails to make any other payments that are due to you (and there is no valid term in the contract allowing them to do so), you could have a claim against your employer for Unlawful Deduction from Wages. There are important time limits that you will need to adhere to since if you do not, you will lose your ability to claim.  We can advise you on what to do next and can assist you in bringing your claim to the Tribunal.
