Dispute Resolution & Personal Injury Paralegal

Law firm based in London’s west end is seeking to appoint paralegal with an interest in dispute resolution and personal injury work. The role will suit legal graduates / post-graduates and LPC graduates with a desire to gain further experience in these fields. The selected candidates will contribute to the capacity of their respective departments through performing a range of tasks including legal analysis, research, drafting, individual casework and general administrative duties. Early file responsibility will be given where ability is demonstrated.

Job Specification

Conducting legal research

Drafting correspondence and legal documents

Drafting and implementing case plans

Client liaison

Preparing and Collating Bundles

Time recording

Assisting solicitors in a range of contentious work

Attending Tribunal and Court hearings (as appropriate)

Attending and minuting at meetings

Completing Court application notices

General administrative duties

Person Specification

Essential requirements

Demonstrably pro-active and use of initiative in daily tasks

2:1 undergraduate degree (predicted or obtained) from UK or overseas university

Commendation or distinction achieved in Legal Practice Course/ GDL

Minimum 6-12 months substantive experience in dispute resolution work

Clear & effective communication skills in oral and written English

Ability to take instruction from senior team members

Ability to organise, multi-task and prioritise own workload

Ability to demonstrate excellent time management skills

Ability to conduct research, both legal and evidential

Strong research skills

Hard working, self-motivated, eager to learn

Ability to use IT systems, and learn new IT skills as required

Team player

Desirable requirements

Previous experience of working in a law firm

Fluency in community based languages beneficial
