Commercial Real Estate Paralegal

Saracens Solicitors based in London’s West End is seeking to appoint paralegal with an interest in the commercial real estate sector. The role will suit current part time LPC students or LPC graduates seeking full time work. The selected candidates will contribute to the capacity of their respective departments through performing a range of tasks including legal analysis, case progression, research, drafting, general case work and administrative duties.

Job Specification

Assisting solicitors on a daily basis in commercial property work, drafting correspondence and preparing legal documents, liaising with clients and other parties such as HMLR, HMRC, legal representatives, local authorities etc. Attending and taking notes at client and team meetings, and general administrative duties. Early file responsibility will be given where appropriate. Role could lead to a training contract for the right candidate. Person Specification
Essential requirements
Current LPC student or LPC graduate with Commendation or above
Min. 6 months conveyancing experience in a wider range of transactions than sales and purchases
2:1 undergraduate degree from UK or overseas university
Experience dealing with the following tasks is essential:

Job Specification

  • Assisting the department solicitors completing non-contentious work on a daily basis
  • Conducting legal research, background checks and application
  • Preparing and collating due diligence bundles
  • Drafting correspondence
  • Attending and taking minutes at client and team meetings (participation welcome)
  • Completing company secretarial work, drafting minutes and resolutions
  • Completing HM Land Registry and Companies House application forms
  • General administrative duties
  • Early file responsibility where appropriate

Person Specification

Essential requirements

Current LPC student or LPC graduate with Commendation or above
Min. 6 months conveyancing experience in a wider range of transactions than sales and purchases
2:1 undergraduate degree from UK or overseas university
Experience dealing with the following tasks is essential:

  • Managing calls from Clients, Agents, Brokers and other parties in a professional and courteous manner
  • Preparing pre-contract packages and applying for relevant searches
  • Drafting letters / emails
  • Land Registry searches and applications
  • Other post exchange/pre-completion tasks
  • Post completion matters
  • Requesting redemption statements
  • Liaising with clients, referrers and lenders
  • Completing transfer deeds, SDLT forms and registration applications at HMLR

Clear & effective communication skills in oral and written English
Ability to take instruction, organise, multi-task and prioritise own workload
Excellent time management skills
Excellent file management skills
Ability to conduct research, both legal and evidential
Proactive individual able to use own initiative
Mature, hard working, self-motivated individual with the ability to work as part of a team
Ability to use IT systems, and learn new IT skills as required

Desirable requirements

Masters degree in any subject
Previous experience of working in a law firm
Previous use of a case management system
